@bsky.app You have an accessibility glitch in the desktop version that badly needs fixing. When I zoom in to make text larger, there's no way to access the "new post" button anymore. See pics 1 (before zooming in) and 2 (after zooming in). Please fix asap.

This is flipping ridiculous, @nytimes.com. "Puts war back on the table"?
Should've been: "continues waging genocidal war against women and children in Gaza."

Never mind, figured it out. Michael Samonek (@samonek.bsky.social) was the one.

Oh, look, Canadian MAiD (medical assistance in dying) law is truly equal to Nazi eugenics law.

Law circa 1939, via Suzanne Evans' book "Forgotten Crimes: The Holocaust and People with Disabilities."

Compare to Canadian MAiD law here: www.justice.gc.ca/eng/cj-jp/ad...

@support.bsky.team @bsky.app is there a way to alter my settings so if a bunch of people repost the same thing, I don't get it a bunch of times in my feed? Thanks

Another wk, another transphobic piece in @nytimes.com: Jeremy Peters leans heavily on right-wing-sounding phrase "the transgender cause," implies trans people's human rights are violated because trans activists are "confrontational," & pities JK Rowling. THIS is why I cancelled my subscription.

These next 4 years are going to be really difficult. Don’t make it easier for them to kill us off. (9)

If you’ve heard what I, and/or other people with long COVID, have been suffering through for years, and you’re not masking, ask yourself how you can believe we should be able to live, but not do the single most important thing to keep everyone safe. (8)
November 26, 2024 at 12:21 AM
If you believe vulnerable folks, disabled people, children, the elderly, Palestinians, and all other human beings have a right to live, WEAR A MASK. (7)
November 26, 2024 at 12:21 AM
I’m tired of being resigned about being shut out of society. So listen: If you’re a progressive/liberal/radical, WEAR A MASK. If you’re against eugenics, WEAR A MASK. If you’re against fascism, WEAR A MASK. (6)
November 26, 2024 at 12:21 AM
Currently there is nowhere safe for us because so few people wear masks. We have to (pay extra $) to get everything delivered, can’t go to the grocery store or the pharmacy *or the doctor’s office*. (5)
November 26, 2024 at 12:21 AM
But I’m going to be real with you: If you don’t wear a mask in public, you are complicit in shutting me, my family, and other disabled people out of society. (4)
November 26, 2024 at 12:21 AM
And that realization made me angry.

For quite some time now, I’ve felt like it’s futile to hope that people who aren’t masking will start again for others in their communities. (3)
November 26, 2024 at 12:18 AM
As we drove back home today, I realized how amazing it’d been to live for weeks without constantly gauging risk. Without having to worry about getting COVID again and getting much sicker. (2)

Thoughts on #DisabilityJustice (from someone nearing 4 years with #LongCovid), a 🧵:

I’ve been away, outside the city, for the past few weeks. We’ve had to do this as often as we can, despite how bad my health is: escape society to stay safe. (1)

This @nytimes.com article is so disturbing for two reason: 1) The Israeli government is freezing dead IDF soldiers' sperm while killing thousands of Palestinians children.
2) The NYT does not acknowledge this horrific contradiction.

Yep, the COVID deniers have made the transition, too. #CovidConscious people: here's a list of users to block.

I think this photo from @nytimes.com was taken in Tokyo in 2024 (it accompanies an article from April 2024).
How telling that (almost) everyone is masking to protect each other. Curious if this is still the case in Japan.

All I can think about are the disabled people who couldn't evacuate.
Climate change will continue to impact disabled people disproportionately -- and will cause more nondisabled people to acquire disabilities -- while systems ignore our needs and lives.

Maybe it's possible that decreased trust in media has something to do with the nosedive in journalist salaries?

Just found this pic from when I first moved to "Canada" more than a decade ago. This is never going to stop striking me as so, so wrong.
