I call it ‘vandrelyst’ (Danish for wanderlust) as I knit it while walking - on hikes, strolls, commuting etc.
Current count is 45/80 squares, so I hope that I’ll finish this year.

I love it when blankets can be #knit from scrap 🧶 and it’s a bonus if it is easy to knit on the go.
The Sixes blanket is a favorite of mine for just these reasons.

The picture shows a knitted bed spread made out of individually knit hexagons. The hex’es are mainly tones of grey but there is a waving band of colored hexes running though the blanket. Each hexagon is a field od stockinette stitch with a narrow garter stitch edge. The blanket is knit on size 3 mm needles in scraps of sock yarn, where the hexagons are knit first and then sewn together. The pattern provides detailed instructions on how to sew the blanket together as well as offers overview charts that you can color in for different sizes of blanket.

I’ve knit and designed a lot of blankets over the year. Most babies in the family got one specially designed for them 🥰
First up is Dufa blanket with a slip stitch wave

Walk’n’knit continues! I almost always knit while walking (or sitting in meetings, waiting in line, etc) and this year I’m knitting half-square-triangles for a blanket.

The year 2025 (upside down in the pic) has been embroidered in, and I am slowly adding more hand quilting lines to all the panels, just for added detail (and because it is fun and relaxing).

My very first knitting project was socks (on dpns no less). That was 20 years ago.
Since then I’ve #knit & designed a lot of socks, so a week of #showmeyourknits isn’t quite enough to show them all 🧦 🧶
But I’m going to show a few favorites!

The lace creates a wave like pattern and continues all the way down the foot. The pattern is called Quicktime socks and is designed by myself.

Another lace shawl from my book Nordic Shawls for this week #showmeyourknits
This is Nymfi, perfect for those special skeins as it us #knit from tip to tip

The picture shows the tip of a sage green lace shawl. The construction is sideways, so you knit from tip to tip. There is a littme border of lace leaves on one side of the shawl and the other side features a small version of the main lace pattern. The main lace pattern flows out from a starting point near the tip of the shawl.

Nothing is quite so satisfying as unpinning a blocked shawl after it is dry - it’s like lifting shaped air 🤩🧶

Finished the hand drawn compilation for 2nd nephew just before going to their party.
I think the drawings were a hit with them both, so I hope I get to draw another for them next year (I’ll keep drawing as long as they want one for their b-day)

I’m joining in for #wipwednesday with an attempt at spreading rainbows at my local yarn store 🌈🧶
Pattern for the blanket will be out later this spring (I hope 🤞)
I’ll be sad to finish this #knit as the colors always improves my mood (que for another rainbow cast on!)

Knitting at my local yarn store (Wool Collective). My project is a baby blanket in vivid colors in a rainbow palette. A mug of coffe sits on the table next to the blanket. Just finished #knitting a pair of scrap yarn rainbow socks for my 6yo, and she immediately put them on… and hasn’t taken them off since.
I guess they had correct 🌈-ratio (the margin is very narrow in my experience).

Very much! So many of my fellow Danes/Europeans are saying ‘just ignore it’, but I’m afraid that’s not possible, because we should never ignore what is going on, even if it makes us uncomfortable… that way lies the possibility for history repeating itself

I struggle with finding balance. The week is so full of activities (and work) that lot’s of things get pushed to the weekend… and then there is somehow even less time there to Get Things Done and an almost nonexisting amount of time for recharging my batteries…
Knit 🧶 or sleep? That’s the question!
