Unless you want a nice cushy vest, go for more yarn. Short sleeves say "summer" to me; plump cables like yours say "winter". Vest says "fall-winter-spring".

"I don't anticipate Boulder being any cheaper." It won't be. Boulder is already (and has long been) a yuppified, glorified, overpriced "we're cooler than Sausalito" conclave.

I am on the **fifth** try of a dead-simple shell in stockinette -- *10 rows MC, 1 row CC* throughout. Try #1 - too big after 4" done, frogged; #2 - still too big after 4", frogged; #3 switch to sampler pattern, stitches not showing up after 4", frogged; #5 - Back to dead-simple.

PERSONAL OPINION - Steele is a lazy writer who often re-uses the same plot (pretty young thing marries rich older man, he dies, she inherits, his kids want the goodies). Stylistically, she, uses, way, too, many, commas. Wildly popular, though! Kinda like Barbara Cartland.

Last film I saw in the theater was "Wicked". Last one before that was "Killers of the Flower Moon". No way can I list the last 30 ... I'd have to go back 10+ years! Mostly quit going when all our local cinema started booking was Marvel sequels and other children's movies....

Start with "Cold Mountain" and then read the Jennifer Chiaverini. Toss the Danielle Steele.

Tried Tolkien a couple of times without success. Vaguely remember a quote that said something along the lines of "the problem with Tolkien is that he writes like an Oxford Don."

If you figure it out, please let us know! I slept last night from 11 p.m. until 3:30. Too old for this shit.

"Trump Abandons Allies"? Herr Dumpf has no allies, only momentarily useful pawns. The moment they are no longer useful to him personally or no longer eager to publicly kiss the ... ring ... (ahem) ... they are dumped (Dumpfd?) in the most humiliating way possible.

Unfortunately, the market boycott seems to have served mostly as an opportunity for the MAGAts to send a big "Fuck You" to the rest of us. I saw a lot of comments on Saturday that more or less said "I went out on Friday and spent all the money I could, so there."

You know what? I think Zelensky and Herr Dumpf shouldn't trade suits. They should trade offices.

For better or worse, I live in a deeply red region. Out and about this morning, I see ... regular lines at drive-throughs ... full grocery store shopping lots ... routine traffic at gas stations ... people going into restaurants as usual. Disappointing but not surprising.

Yes, YES, a thousand times yes. I've been through it three times, and pre-existing POAs, medical directives, simple wills, well-drawn family trust agreements, pre-planned & prepaid funeral arrangements, etc., make a ***huge*** difference to the persona who has to handle the estate.

LOVE the grey with the rainbow stripes! Those would make me smile every time I put them on. (My current smile-when-you-wear-them pair looks like crushed Starlight mints!)

Always sad. And since so many of our natural-fiber yarns are sourced or processed overseas, the proposed tariffs are going to drive prices up, putting even more pressure on the independent sellers to stay afloat.

"Napoleon's Buttons: How 17 Molecules Changed History" - a disappointment. Not really what I was expecting (think "A History of the World in Six Glasses"), and waaaaaay too much information about molecular chemistry (think "Chemical Chemistry: Principles, Techniques, and Correlations").
