So at this conference i set up an Aussie WhatsApp group mostly to find out when people arriving, staying etc. Turned into often hilarious commentary on sessions, social functions, sharing fotos etc. Think could work for a conference for like-minded folks to join. Maybe exclusive but geez we had fun!

Yes, this is an issue for large, bureaucratic organisations that are slow to move. Be keen to keep an eye on their responses.
