It's more about learning to enjoy the few people who do engage, over comparing yourself to big accounts. And to learn that it is enough if you alone like what you are doing.

both of these statements are true. Of course people want engagement if they post something online. But the 'you shouldn't care' does not mean that you actually should not care, it means that it is unhealthy to tie your worth or the worth of your work to online engagement.
