it really only dawned on me over covid how much they severely dumb down the control of the mario in that game in comparison to 64 and Sunshine (sunshine being, up until odyssey, the peak of Mario Feel (weird level design aside)). playing it in a vacuum, its great, but i bounced off soooo hard

i used to live in koreatown in LA and the grocer nearby would carry asahi in a TRULY comically huge can. i loved the big can asahi. once i went up a big beautiful mountain in kyoto (ama no hashidate) and at the top they had an asahi vending machine. the view + the asahi fixed something in me
