The older we get the more alert to threat we become. We can also feel less able to cope with threat financially, physically, cognitively. So it may be easier for others to create fear and offer solutions to manipulate behaviours. A rational response to irrational fears.

This is why I love Quiet Riot, an acceptance of the losses and a focus on the gains. I’m inspired to (try to) put aside my usual 3 day sulk at the hour loss this year

I couldn’t agree more with this. Children are really losing out to a target-driven education system and money-driven online platforms. We need a major perspective change - our young people should be thriving in these systems not trying to survive them.

A great thread - thanks for sharing your research. This highlights the problem inherent in trad self-report measures. Perhaps the act of completing the measures creates a fundamental difference in self reflection from pre to post. Do we need more creative and/or qualitative methods of evaluation?
