Excited to see reviews of this update. Wonder if there’s any sacrifices when using performance mode. 720p? If it maintains 1080p and only dips in frames here and there then that’s decent IMO

Hope they keep optimizing though, should be able to squeeze more out of the Switch 2.

Release updates for your titles for Switch 2 4K/ 60FPS or even 120FPS along with the higher res/ poly assets then I’d buy them.

Don’t want to play the crusty old Switch versions.

Nope, it sure can’t. That’s a nice and cool feature, but I’m fine playing with the janky framerates. I’m so used to N64 frames it doesn’t bother me 😅

I’ve just recently learned what these actually do and I would’ve been in the market for one if I didn’t already have an N64Digital-modded N64

At its core this is still a Switch 1 game with some cheap lipstick on.

Hopefully they patch it and fully take advantage of the Switch 2. This should at minimum look like it does on PS4.

The good:
-60FPS
-Load times faster
-More enemies & environmental details

The bad:
-The assets/ internal resolution are barely improved, if at all. The text and models look very jagged and poor. Specially compared to other versions.

Anyways, that is just my experience. Maybe this will better fit you than me.

I use Windows for other things outside of gaming too so I’m happy with my rig. If you got the money, patience, and space then go for it! Steam OS (Linux) itself is pretty great and I wouldn’t mind dual-booting it

Though that’s just me. I’ve been trying to reduce all the devices I carry. Also sold my bulky Windows laptop and got a nice slim MacBook. I throw that and my Switch 2 into my backpack when I travel and it is super easy and light.

Steam machine could be nice though but I don’t see the point lol
