Heat, vent engineer. Energy efficiency. Passivhaus Designer, Retrofit Coordinator. Life indefinitely paused: disabled after a concussion.
🤦‍♀️ The fact that they are more efficient and potentially cheaper than gas to run should be reason enough. An example of Perfect being the enemy of good enough. PV could probably much closer to 100% efficient at converting sunlight to electricity but that doesn’t stop us using it now.

The pans thing is a bit of a red herring as you can get induction friendly ones for less than £10 and are widely available. Replacing a whole set might get pricey but it can be done one pan at a time.

No, we converted from gas to induction.

My finger doesn’t work sometimes with the digital buttons- if they get a bit greasy or damp.

I had installation issues - I couldn’t have both induction hob and double oven on the cooker circuit. Ended up swapping the double oven for a single one that plugs in. Less disruptive than adding an additional cooker circuit. Only missed the double oven a couple of times.

Interesting. My medicated depression (not SSRI, can’t remember the group of antidepressants) got worse after my concussion but it was the persisting symptoms and lack of treatment that caused this. They don’t seem to be looking at what TBI symptoms are still present or there severity.

I often get this when I wake up. I thought it was sleep paralysis (but without the scary hallucinations).

Why don’t they just drop the knitting part of the name, change it to yarn crafters or artists, then allow people to choose their own technique for each round?

I used to eat them but started to get slight allergy symptoms each time so I stopped, just in case. Kind of the opposite of desensitising therapy.

Who needs peanut butter anyway when you can buy Biscoff spread?

It would be life-changing for me to follow the article as I have a nut allergy, though not allergic to pine nuts.

And pine nuts are seeds.

Definitely life-changing if you are allergic to them! (Like me).

It’s like having a karate competition but round 4 is kung fu.

I’m waiting for the crochet vs knitting debate to kick off. Slight mutterings so far about references to ‘hook’ and images of crochet in the titles. For the record CROCHET IS NOT A KNITTING TECHNIQUE. It is a separate yarns with its own terminology and techniques.

*knitting 🤦‍♀️

Not quite the kind of marathon I was expecting/would take part in. I thought it was watching the whole thing, not running!
November 2, 2025 at 9:42 PM
I guess there aren’t many people who can do both.

If you take your hook out and pull, it does. I’ve had to frog a piece and start again a good few times. I use a safety pin if I’m transporting a WIP. A good knot stops it once complete.

Two needles seemed complicated to me! I tried when I was younger but didn’t get on with it. Wonder if being left handed has anything to do with finding knitting more difficult?

I just missed the beginning. I was wondering whether crochet (my craft of choice) would get a look in.
