The best tip about faces is to imagine a folded sheet of paper separating the two halves of the face. A crease down the center line helps to imagine shape and volume.

Thanks for sharing, it looks great. One thing that may have to do with missing context: I can't quite understand what's happening with the female's hand in the first panel. I guess someone is helping her up, but these two hands look identical. Maybe let the helping hand break the frame?

Yes, routine is very important. The other problem is splitting time between writing and drawing, but I usually have days that just feel like writing. And one usually influences the other.
