In love with all things Tibetan, Nepalese and Indian. Endlessly curious about their politics, culture, food and people (Maybe a little obsessed!). Campaigner for a Free Tibet.
Tibetan studies in the PRC are real but constrained. Scholars conduct genuine linguistic, historical, and cultural research, but must conform to state ideology. Conclusions on sovereignty, history, and modern governance are tightly controlled, limiting academic independence and critical inquiry.

Coerced assimilation in Tibet is severe: large numbers of children are separated into state boarding schools, Tibetan language and religion are restricted, and political indoctrination is widespread. This threatens cultural survival, while China argues it promotes development and unity.
