…made it all the more clear how horrifying this process is for families who don’t have the privileges that we do.

The point of yesterday was fear. We were meant to be in fear. Juan was meant to fear being in protest. Americans were meant to fear exercising their constitutional rights.

…at around 430pm he was moved into a van and it wasn’t until they were out of the facility that he was told he would be released at a local gas station.

The stress and trauma of the day were unimaginable for our family and friends.

And knowing this could happen to an elected official…

…him being tackled to the ground and arrested by ICE.

He was never told why he was detained. He was never charged. He was never allowed to see a lawyer. He was never told if he was being detained by ICE or by the FBI, both of whom were present.

He wasn’t even told he was being released...

Juan was observing the situation at the ICE detention facility alongside other elected officials. He was in a designated protesting area & was standing peacefully when video shows

Juan has recently been released. Without charge.

He was detained, all day in a cell, simply for standing at a protest.

Thank you everyone for your overwhelming support and thank you to my senators for your support.

Thanks for all the kind words. I finally heard from my husband who is safe. He is being detained and it is not clear why he was detained or even if charges will be pressed.

Please pray for my family and if you can, reach out to your representatives and senators about this assault on our freedoms.
