Found some old gamedev stuff from my folders (trine 4), these assets would scale so tiny in the game I doubt you could make out most of the details but I was allowed to take my time with them anyway. Nowadays I guess a lot of devs just use AI slop instead. We didn't know how good we had it...

Turns out Road to Empress is really fun (been watching Northernlion's playthrough), the women are stupidly hot and evil and this is probably my cue to get into more historical Chinese media

James Cameron's defining talent is making popcorn blockbusters for dumb people. But it takes a smart guy to pull that off since the idea is to communicate story and themes with a polished efficiency that's easy for most people to enjoy. Hence that guy will just print money every time

It's this style of art turned into a movie with the most expensive cutting edge technology available. Normies will appreciate it just fine but if you're a cultured person with good taste you'll probably reject it outright.

"But why is there no fandom or cultural impact" I don't know why this is so mysterious to people. Avatar is the only franchise on the list that replaces human characters with cgi cat aliens in loincloths, in a 90's airbrushed new age hippie aesthetic. It's too cringe. Fun to watch, but it's cringe

It's so nice that they tried though. Especially if you want to make comics or animation it's important to practice the difficult angles too, even if they suck at first. Just like in filmmaking knowing where to place the camera can make your work much more effective and interesting

Your art can be as ambiguous and carefree as Yoshitaka Amano's ONLY if you know you're drawing it just once. He never had to struggle with that comic artist dread of "oh shit I need to draw this fantasy mech 50 more times? From different angles? And keep it consistent somehow???"
