I'm so proud of this book, releasing in Italy next week & the work I did with the immensely gifted Fatin Abbas as her editor. Afterwords is a series I curate/edit and co-founded with wetlands books. We have an incredible and growing list of writers from across Africa and the diaspora. Stay tuned.

I was in Haifa. Summer 2023. Mahmoud Muna was on stage discussing literature & publishing in Palestine. We were there as a guests of @palfest.bsky.social, having just left the shattering realities of Hebron. To hear him speak was spirit-restoring. May he and his nephew Ahmed be safe.

Earlier this month, I was part of a symposium about various migrations. Here, Nikole Hannah-Jones reminding us of those who came before us, and the fierce spirit that opened so many doors for African Americans and the Black diaspora, and others.

The future we are staring into bleakly isn't new.

Recently went to Peru & stood in awe in front of these stones that fortified a civilization. That memory remains rooted into this earth, no matter colonial attempts to erase it.

The ruins will always recall their buildings. The land will forever remember those who cultivated it.
