A fluffy brown dog with white paws and muzzle, lying in a gray dog bed with a gray-brown blanket draped over him, so only his head and front paws are visible. Seems like others have covered more interesting weirdos, but have some fossil sand dollars in this trying time. These are Astrodapsis, they're endemic to late Miocene California. Nobody is quite sure what they were up to ecologically (though they're weird enough it was definitely /something/).
Three fossil sand dollars from the genus Astrodapsis. They are relatively flat sea urchin relatives with structures on the tops of their bodies that resemble a five-petaled flower. The topmost individual is the smallest of the three, has a roughly egg-shaped silhouette, and is whitish, perfectly preserved with all plates visible, and open-ended slightly raised petals. The middle individual is the largest of the three, gray-brown, has a round silhouette, and due to poor preservation much of its surface is permanently obscured by rock. The bottom individual is tannish, has a pentagonal silhouette, and has large, prominent petals that are very bulbous compared to the rest of its body.

Saw this post with a tragic absence of pets in the replies so I'm changing that.
An older dog lying in a gray dog bed with a toy nestled beside him as is he's cuddling with it. The dog is a fluffy brown Australian shepherd mix with a grayed muzzle and one white paw visible, he is looking at the camera with brown eyes. The dog toy is mostly pink with teal piping, and shaped like a pig, with two googly eyes on the top of its head.
