I've been in NYC for this visit since shortly after congestion pricing started. My observation compared to previous stays is that when you are almost hit in a cross walk, it's much more likely to be by a luxury vehicle or black SUV

In a coals::New Castle effort I flew across the country & baked bagels for family in NYC. Mine are smaller, chewier and often graced with furikake. Nothing beats a furikake bagel with cured/smoked fish. Today we enjoyed with locally produced gravlax - which they can do a reasonable job of in NYC.

For several weeks early in 2017 this little coyote would wait for me at the beginning of the trail on my morning walk to the ferry. It would lope ahead, stop and watch while waiting for me to catch up and then lope ahead again.

Drive across North or South Dakota and try to justify 4 Senators and 6 electoral votes for a combined population of about 1.8 million. Due west are Wyoming (God's Rectangle) and Montana with total population again pushing 1.8 million and 6 electoral votes. States are the original Gerrymander.

I was far from home in a corporate apartment when the pandemic struck. One of my evening rituals was to get dressed for the opera and watch the Met on demand. Yes, this included having a cocktail at intermission.
