There is a really sad irony in relocating to Southern Italy because it is more LGBTQ-friendly and less fascist than the US.
In February-March 2020, I remember feeling actually insane in that nobody around me seemed to realize the scope of the issue. (Although rereading The Stand was a tactical error.)
Last week, I decided that instead of feeling insane, I was gonna immediately f*** off out of the country. Zero regrets.
