Didn't he say in his Youtube channel that he got a game proposal? I never understood why this rumor got so popular when he clearly stated it himself and Sakurai is pretty straightforward. I think he would have said that his own proposal got approved or something along those lines if it was the case.

Huge Nintendo fanboy here, I LOVED the VITA. It's in my top 5 favorite consoles of all times and I have only owned 3 non-Nintendo consoles in my life.

I got the opportunity to choose first and me being a huge DKC fan picked it with no hesitation.
We spent the first day playing it and got all the way to Frantic Factory and got stuck at the boss, then we switched to Smash and never switched back for the rest of the 2 or so weeks I was there.
