Trump *should* be easy to beat. A candidate who offers even a shred of hope will do so handily. However, let’s see if they choose another neoliberal who has the actual support of like 10% and relies on lesser evilism for the rest.

And then you have the democrats who spend all of their energy trying to draw in the “moderate” Republican, and just end up alienating everyone else. The people who vote for Trump do so gleefully. The ones who vote against him often hold their noses while voting Democrat.

The only problem with thee trade deal with China is that it doesn’t go far enough. For example, we should open a BYD plant in Canada.

You can make a case that Napoleon III, the “grotesque mediocrity,” was the Trump of the 19th century. Hitler was also pretty fucking stupid, but his tragedy outweighs his idiocy in historical memory.

My cautious hope is that, in trying to do everything everywhere all at once, he will simultaneously end up doing very little but also overstretch the American Empire and hasten its collapse.

This is global north chauvinism. Some of these countries have shitty leadership (Argentina, Hungary, etc) but others are simply developing countries that can be really hurt by the Yanks sanctions. There’s a reason only rich countries flat rejected it.
