The public sucks. Fuck hope.
Someone must have explained to him, that countries switching to renewable energy are not going to buy the Venezuelan oil, he's stealing.

The comment was somewhere here in this thread: www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/...
If anyone has any further ideas if that is more common now on Reddit or if any of their AIs went wild, let me know.

I noticed in the past years as well how Reddit got less and less useful with single more or less witful line statements written seconds after the posting was created, that reinforce the common trope rather than insightful and expert commentaries, that got me addicted first.

Anyway, I didn't come here to complain about that. I was waiting for a sign to quit Reddit (and hopefully make better use of that time in the future). So there's that. But I doubt that I was the only one, who got struck off like that.

But is that really identity based hate? A permanent ban seems really thin skinned for that (nor would I call US Americans marginalised). Maybe it was insulting the American flag that did it? If so, even more weird. The lead exposure is a scientific fact btw (jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...).
Individual- and Community-Level Factors Associated With Lead Exposure
This cross-sectional study evaluates individual- and community-level factors associated with detectable and elevated blood lead levels in children.

That I'd chose the best neighbours one can imagine (Denmark) any time over being threatened by a country full of idiots, dumbed down by decades of lead exposure with a pathologic relationship to their stupid flag (USA). Maybe too poignant? (I hope that doesn't get me banned here on bluesky as well).

But that still made me wonder what exactly was happening, that got the Reddit Mods so worked up, that they banned me for hate speech after that comment was up for > 12 hours.
Now I can't see my comment anymore but from memory it must have been something like this (in a post about Trumps tariffs):

Now that came at a convenient time for me as I wanted to reduce my reliance on and support for US American tech companies and Reddit was the one thing I was still heavily using (no idea what to do about bluesky for now - I guess it's the lesser evil to X with some of the accounts that I follow).
