Just a rural, female, heavy haul truck driver stuck in a sea of MAGA dimwits. No DM’s please and thank you.
Eggs were expensive and the black lady laughed too much.😑

Got any advice for how to hurry along menopause?

The reason I ask is because I really offended a Guatemalan friend by assuming that he migrated from Mexico. Classic white ignorance. I’ve been trying to figure out the best way to avoid that even since. And I can’t identify their countries of origin any more than I can tell apart Europeans.

The problem I have is describing folks south of the US border in a way that isn’t hurtful or confusing. Everyplace on earth has Indigenous people so that doesn’t narrow things down. And some people don’t care to be called Latino/Latina. And saying South and Central Americans is quite the mouthful.

I very sincerely want to know how to collectively refer to people from South and Central America In a way that isn’t offensive. If not Latino what? South Americans? Hispanic? Brown? What is the appropriate way to refer to them? I hate the idea of offending or hurting people out of ignorance.

Paid $850 for this in the early 90’s. Was my daily driver well into the 00’s. It’s been very reliable and has very little rust. If the original engine ever blows up, I can drop a new one in, at home in my garage, cheaply. Which is something that can’t be said with anything new.

Same here. Coming home from work I had a mini-van firmly lodged up my butt for miles. Came into a 40mph zone and the van lost it and laid on the horn for a solid minute. Meanwhile, I had an Amazon truck ahead of me. So, I’m not sure what they expected. I’ll never understand tailgaters. Just dumb!

Absolutely! I used to assume that if you bought something brand new and did all of the recommended maintenance you’d be set. But not all cars are created equal. Lesson learned is research, research, research! Because, I’m really sick of getting bit in the butt! 😣

Trust me, I’m definitely sorry. Both of the cars that we’ve bought brand new have died before 200K miles. And I am super sore about it. Probably won’t ever buy anything new again. At least with older cars you can research what they’re known problems are and shop accordingly.

Took perfect care of this and the transmission went out before 150K miles. Cost would have been 10K to fix. So it’s a mechanical total loss. It looked new when we sold it for $3K. We can fix the old cars ourselves, at home, cheaply.

We bought a used 1992 Honda Accord years ago and had over 300K miles on it before died. If I could go back in time I would have kept it and dropped a rebuilt engine in it. these days people act like 200K miles is a miracle. Those old Hondas were gold!
January 12, 2026 at 1:27 PM
This thing couldn’t even get to 150K miles before the transmission died. The trans would have cost $10K to replace. So, it’s a mechanical total loss. We sold it for $3K and considered ourselves lucky. If the trans went out in our 67 we could fix it ourselves at home for a fraction of the cost.

We had a very good showing down here in Shelton too. The largest protest I’ve seen so far.

It took a lot of whacking and come-a-long cranking to get the face of my 2005 E-250 pulled out after someone swiped me into a guardrail. But, we got it cobbled back together. The “5” looks like hell and has a ton of miles but it’s still the most reliable thing I’ve ever owned. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This shit is gonna get fugly. Do they think 2A only applies to MAGA? If they do they’re gonna be in for quite the surprise. Some of us “libs” are armed to the teeth. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yeah, I’m sorry too. Maybe it’s just Ford? Don’t know. But I sure am sore about it. Going forward we’re going with Japanese cars. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a non-classic domestic car ever again.

Maybe if they find a new CEO.

My husband managed to kill two new cars. A 2014 Ford Fiesta ST and a Ford Transit Connect XLT. The Fiesta was dead in six years and the Connect was dead in five. Both were well maintained. Meanwhile my 2005 E-250 has been neglected, beat and ate a guardrail and it’s still strong as ever. 🤷🏻‍♀️
