Hi! Author of ezgif here :)

The video cut tool hasn't had any changes in functionality for several years. I did update the video player in September, but I don't see how that could have affected the precision.

Maybe you could send me a file where you're experiencing issues with cutting?

It’s not uncommon when translating idioms and other figurative expressions to find that a slightly different phrase works better than a direct translation.

бублик = bagel, so in completely literal sense I guess bagel is a more direct translation, but since donuts seem more popular food in the west and more often referenced in pop culture, I guess "a hole from a donut" works better in English.

Doesn't really make sense to me. If you're hosting VPS at Hetzner, why do you keep the DB elsewhere?

LOL pressing a button like a neanderthal.
In 2025 AI should do it automatically.

I think this is the most accurate version.

Still down 2 hours in. Glad I'm not using it for my most important sites.

Sorry but it seems silly to sell or buy a new computer with only 8GB of RAM today. Even my 10 years old junk laptop has 16.

Tai anketai nav nekādas nozīmes, tie dati pat nav piesieti kartēm, visām Depo kartēm ir vienāds svītrukods virsū.

Man ir vnk saglabāta šāda bilde telefonā, ko rādu Depo kartes vietā.

I think so too, but I'm biased.

Thanks!

The beauty of running my own services on VPS or bare metal is that it doesn't have to be Digital Ocean or Hetzner. There are countless other providers offering identical services, I can even run my own server under my desk if I want to, and I have the flexibility to move at any time.

I steer clear of PaaS and fancy cloud stuff. Once you have significant traffic, they become very expensive. I also hate vendor lock-in and hidden complexity.

I either use a VPS from Digital Ocean or Hetzner or for projects requiring more resources - dedicated servers from Hetzner.

Ahh, yeah, I guess for the queries that are directly answered by Google now, it's probably different. Makes sense. The ones I'm interested in thankfully mostly aren't. Yet 🙃

Maybe the demographics of the people who use ChatGPT differ from these, who look for a GIF resizer in Google, I don't know, but from my perspective calling Googles demise seems early.
January 15, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Also looking at non-IT people around me, most are still using google. I think ChatGPT and alternative search engines are still kind of a niche thing. Not that it will necessarily stay that way, but it's still early.

Yeah, it's kind of the same trend for both. I haven't made much changes in the sites, and the traffic from google seems to be pretty much identical to the previous year. I haven't seen any drop in traffic from google, or serious increase from other sources, that would signal a "dramatic" change.

Or until he ends up in jail...
January 14, 2025 at 11:11 AM
For the vast majority of people, it hasn't. I run a site with >100k visitors from Google every day, and nothing has really changed in the last couple of years for most queries.
