Marc Rebillet is awesome. He does live shows where he improvises these complex songs on the spot by sampling and looping his own voice while wearing just undies and a robe.

We call it "Eating the crunchy skulls of her enemies"

And thus, "It's cronchy skull time! Yeah! Let's get your crunchy skulls!"

Fun fact: Due process is how a court determines whether you *are* a citizen before sticking you on a plane to El Salvador.

If due process is not extended to everyone, nobody in the US has de-facto citizenship rights, because any one of us could be deported at will with no legal proceedings.

"At least the trains run on time" was sarcasm in the vein of "At least egg prices are low again."

Media on right-wing authoritarian government really does everyone a disservice. They are *all* incompetent. Yes, even the Nazis. In the service narratives that require a scary antagonist, fictional stories tend to make them out to be far more competent than they ever were, which is misleading.

Maybe 😂

My cat is also the Devil incarnate, and likes to bite people in the butt.

It's called: "What, you have to get out of bed and go to work, and can't cuddle me?" 💢👿👿👿👿👿👿👿👿💢

And then you stand up. Chomp.

If conditions remain fairly comfortable for the average person, guess what happens? He doesn't get removed, the fascism continues, and I and millions of people like me die.

You are preaching to the choir when you try to taunt left-leaning Americans.
April 10, 2025 at 3:04 PM
Yeah, I, an American, know this. I *want* the rest of the world to show that they're not taking all of this lying down. It's one of the ways we can prove internally that this administration is a complete disaster. He can be removed, but only if we suffer greatly.

With the entrenched power of both the Republican and Democrat parties, they aren't getting replaced any time soon. There will never be a viable third party until election laws are changed.

Unfortunately, those laws are hard to change when you have 2 parties that depend on those laws being that way.
March 31, 2025 at 6:36 PM
It's not that Americans are attached to it. It's how our election laws work. First past the post elections ensure that you only ever have 2 viable parties at a time. Sometimes, there may be replacements of those viable parties, and party values can shift. But there will only ever be two.

But also realize that this rot goes a lot deeper than just social media. Much of it is capitalist systems struggling to maintain themselves in an era of climate catastrophe and global pandemics.

Some rando in Arkansas in a drop in the pond, and someone else with money built a wave machine.

Don't complain that the drops are moving. Take down the wave machine.

Don't believe everything you hear on a social media site. Don't trust in what you *haven't* heard. (Example: Yes, the US public is out and protesting. You haven't seen that on social media? Gee, I wonder why?)

And, even if I was talking to a real German, there is a high likelihood that they were influenced into this belief via some sort of coercive control tactic in social media. These are self-reinforcing feedback loops of societal control.
March 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
In light of my own views on this subject, I can't be entirely certain that it was a real German I was interacting with, a bot set up to intentionally drive a further wedge between the American and German public, or a Russian paid agent attempting to do the same. We live in that world now.
March 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Again, it really pains me that I recently had a fight, with a German, who insisted that the Jews had some responsibility for the Holocaust, because they were a part of society and should have done more to shape that society into not committing genocide. On them.

I have a bit of reading material I found recently that feels like it's a good read for everyone right now. But by all means, check out some scholarly research on authoritarianism, how it forms, how it can be stopped. www.programmablemutter.com/p/were-getti...
We're getting the social media crisis wrong

What individuals can do about it is to recognize the systemic nature of the threat. Contact your representatives in government. Make sure they are trying to combat the threat in effective ways. Shut down the social media apparatus that is the fuel for a lot of this.
March 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Europe is vulnerable to exactly what happened in the US. We have seen this with Brexit, with the AfD, with Marine Le Pen, with Georgia Meloni -- this is a global threat. It cannot be derailed by individual action. It must be seen and handled by larger institutions.
March 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
But, it goes back a hell of a long way. The media is involved in this. Both parties in the US are involved in this. Russia is absolutely involved in this. Blame individuals for this, and feel like you can personally swing the needle at your own peril.
March 28, 2025 at 6:03 PM
Social networks have a lot of culpability -- especially the CEOs of places like Facebook and YouTube and Twitter, who intentionally created society-shaping machines, and set their algorithms to boost fascism and ignore fraudulent and coercive activity.
