Now-days, CGI is overused and applied to the smallest and least significant details of films. While CGI was exciting and new when it was first introduced, it has become cliché and tacky, since it is either poorly executed or no longer used in moderation.

Hollywood doesn’t know how to show restraint with CGI. Their mentality is ‘Because we can, we will’. They want it faster, bigger, brighter, more colorful, and 10X as epic as the last time.

Rushed filming and production schedules force artists to limit what their work is capable of, leaving CGI messy and unfinished. The main issue is studios pushing for their movies to be churned out at a rate so fast that it feels VFX artists and viewers can’t keep up.

My Topic will be about the quality of CGI declining in movies. We can see great CGI performing years ago in Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings or the Transformer movies but due to rush in production and relying on green screen it went drastically down.

CGI and VFX was much better in the early 2000 than what we see these days in films such as Ant-Man 3.
