My Kingdom and more for anyone to realize that awarding yourself a government contract is not a conflict of interest. It's corruption. When the bank teller takes the money out of the cash drawer and puts it in his pocket that's not a conflict of interest either.

State secrets privilege seems like a poor fit to judge’s order to tell him when the planes took off. That privilege can prevent public disclosure of government secrets, but a judge is entitled to hear them privately. This sounds more like my dog ate my homework.

NWS just announced a major reduction in upper-air (weather balloon) observations due to staffing shortages.

Omaha and Rapid City losing balloon launches altogether, with launches cut in half at 6 other sites.

Losing this many launches could affect severe weather forecasting and computer models.
