It’s also good to have #booksigning #CDsigning I gave a concert in the @hayfestival.bsky.social last year, stayed for a talk by the poet laureate, bought a book, queued to have it signed. It made a nice present.

Yes, audiences are so important to performers and composers. When people come up to me after a concert and say ‘I wish I’d learnt an instrument’ or ‘I wish I knew more about or understood music’ et cetera, I always say ‘you just need to listen; we need you’!
