This runs the risk of diminishing the impact of these very same twists when they eventually become relevant. For example: it's slightly dissatisfying to be clued in on what Rinne's role is before actually seeing what her story entails - and how utterly INSANE it all is.

The prose offers an unexpected level of nuance in giving texture to both his chilling monologues and the interpersonal relationships he develops with the women he's *legally obligated* to abuse. The writing does a good job exploring some COMPLICATED feelings. Mostly.

It's about two people deemed PrObLeMaTiC by society finding comfort and validation with each other, regardless of how extreme their circumstances may be. The foundation may be deeply unhealthy but it's eventually outshone by an earnest desire for companionship. Mentally ill kids deserve love too.

Here's a quick recommendation for those of you who enjoy a good(?) Yandere: the "Crimson Gray" games. Short visual novels about a clinically depressed guy on the wrong meds and the psychotic girl who loves him trying to make it work as a couple. It's cute - when no one is dying horribly, that is.
