We invite you to our next open house on Saturday, September 20, from 11 am - 1 pm at the Allis-Bushnell House. Come explore exhibits about the USS Monitor, the first ironclad ship commissioned by the Navy. Enjoy paintings by artists Gilbert Munger and Clarissa Munger Badger. Admission is free.

Today is the first anniversary of the grand opening of the Madison Center for History & Culture at Lee's Academy. Over the past year, the MCHC has welcomed hundreds of visitors through engaging exhibits, Colonial Day field trips, book group meetings, and a vibrant art show.

The MHS is excited to offer a Let’s Get Sewing! workshop, led by Dawn Tiscia. This 2-day class for students 12+ costs $45; it will be held on July 9 and 10, from 10 am to 12:30 pm, at the Madison Center for History & Culture at Lee’s Academy.

We’ll be participating in the Shoreline Trail Day on Saturday, June 21!
The cleanup will be 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM and the free cookout will be at 1:30 PM!
This event will focus on clearing trails and learning about the history of Camp Hadley. Join us for a great day of history, hiking, and service!

We are pleased to announce our first-ever Madison Historical Society Federico Barrera Scholarship recipient, Jonathan Black. Jonathan's dedication to sharing Madison's history was highlighted in his service to the MHS and his Eagle Scout project that focused on the history of the Rockland Preserve.

The MHS is pleased to take part in CT Open House Day. The Allis-Bushnell House and its annex will be open for all to enjoy from 11 am to 2 pm at no charge. Our new exhibit, "For Medicinal Purposes Only," will be unveiled. Vintage medical kits, bottles, and advice will be displayed in the tea room.

Our first-ever summer market kicks off next week on June 14 from 11 am - 2 pm! The market features local artists, artisans, and crafters. Guests are invited to peruse the offerings of our market vendors, assembled on the back lawn of the Allis-Bushnell House at 853 Boston Post Road.

The Allis-Bushnell House museum is open to visitors at no charge on May 17 from 11 am - 1 pm. Guests are encouraged to wander the first floor to enjoy the displays.

The Annex, featuring our maritime exhibit, will also be open, as will our gift shop with locally made notecards, syrup, and more.

The MHS is seeking artists, artisans, and farmers to participate in our summer markets on the back lawn of the Allis-Bushnell House. This new initiative will take place on June 14, June 21, July 5, July 19, August 2, and August 16. We hope you'll join us.
