I also liked how well-supported the systems were for forced movement (push/pull/slide/knock prone/etc.) and status conditions (daze/slow/stun/weakened/etc.); it felt like combat was more dynamic and tactical while still feeling like D&D. It really got me into using minis and battle maps.

Having run an epic level campaign in 3.5 and another in 4E, they're vastly different. Making an NPC Wizard antagonist at level 23 (for example) takes ages in 3.5 when compared to 4E.

The best and longest-running campaign I ever had was 4th Edition.
One big positive about the system for me was how easy it is to do prep for a game session; making stat blocks for NPCs was really streamlined and simple. Altering existing monsters to make stronger versions (or minions) was simple.
