Someday, I will do something with my life.
he/him
It may not be true that it never happens, but in my experience it happens WAY less than it did 20 years ago. Then I would have expected it, now I am surprised any time someone does it. _I_ still do it.

Well, I have generally not felt too bad, but I only managed to get 5 1/2 hours of sleep, so this thing is doing _something_ to me.

Just that many, many people think the phrase is "chomping at the bit". Amusingly, I had just used the phrase today, I think also in regards to the vaccine!

My first covid shot and later 1st booster absolutely destroyed me, but in general other vaccines also are mild to me. Here's hoping!

I got my first dose today, and had been so looking forward to it. So far, side effects aren't too bad, but it's only been 4 hours. Also, bonus points for correct "champing".

It was so hard to get my hands on that full set of books- used book stores and ebay were eventually required, but I got them and love seeing that image across all their spines. My favorite artist and author, come together belatedly but gloriously.

14. Space. I love space shit. I went to Space Camp three times, most recently in 2019. As a kid I subscribed to Astronomy magazine. I follow an astrophysicist on youtube. One of the biggest disappointments with the future we got was I thought by now I would have been able to go to space...

I also have to assume she knows that. But I didn't, that's a cool tidbit! I hope the young one enjoys the book.

I genuinely wondered if anyone reading this would recognize Morkeleb! The cover for that book, by Michael Whelan, is one of my go-to pieces of art for "what my platonic ideal dragon looks like".

13. Dragons. I collect figurines, dragon art, and sometimes dragon books or games. From Smaug to Morkeleb to Orm Embar, give me more cool dragons.
...Maybe someday I should read the Pern books.

12. A specific author: Roger Zelazny. I have read every word he published- every book, every short story, every poem, every essay. This took a while. I haven't heard any stories about him turning out to be a POS like so many other authors, so my fingers are crossed there.

11. @failbettergames.bsky.social 's Fallen London, which I have been playing for almost 11 years. If you play, hit me up and I'll send you some rats.

10. The Princess Bride. It is a great book, and the perfect movie. I will not be taking questions.
January 23, 2025 at 6:39 AM
9. West Peak. A site in the Hanging Hills in Meriden, CT, this is where I spent much of my high school years hanging out when I wanted to get away. Always windy, you can look out over a cliff to a great view.

8. Reading. For a while, in the early pandemic, I didn't have the brain to read anything new, but I still was constantly rereading something. Most recent book I finished was Nightborn by CS Friedman. I primarily read fantasy and scifi.
