Yeah that’s a very valid concern and something I’m thinking about as I have already shared this prior. The Palestinian/divestment uni protests were not legal yet received major media coverage and a response from the Israeli PM. It takes risk and individuals, but I understand why people are worried.

How do you determine how many people will show up prior to it happening? Did the LA protests have an RSVP list or something prior? I don’t think they got a permit to block the freeway and thousands of ppl showed up.

Some states do have permits, I don’t know if all states are getting approval for it. They have a spreadsheet for it, California does have one:

It’s a grassroots decentralized protest, most info is through Reddit r/50501 but they’re also @50501movement.bsky.social , in California and other states they already have permits for the protests.
