I don't think either one of them sounded messy. I will say however, that I love the remixes for both. I found the original version of Rain to be more artistic while the remix was more radio friendly. I definitely think the remix used for the video of Fever is superior to the album version.

It is in my Madonna top three albums ranking. I also loved how she had some great dance songs with a strong message like this one ⤵️
