In a desperate attempt to prove her her house isn’t haunted, Jenny invites a group of reality tv show hunters (the Ghost Slappers) to investigate the home. #BluePit💥 #BluePit #A #NA #PN #W #Q #LGBT
Cover art for Ghost Slappers. Jenny sits behind a dollhouse while doll sized Ghost hunters investigate the inside of the house. Jenny holds the shows host, Rick Dickerson, up to her eye to examine him as he shines a flashlight in her face. Montage scene of Jenny fixing up and renovating her new flip. The panels are separated by blue painters tape instead of the typical border Jenny makes a sandwich that night, but hears something spooky that interrupts her from her dinner. She grabs a knife Jenny follows the noise out of the kitchen, up the stairs and to a crawl space door to the attic. Shes gripping her knife and looking anxious

Hi #PlaylistPitch ! Here’s a playlist I made for my nearly complete graphic novel Ghost Slappers, about a woman trying to prove her house isn’t haunted by hiring reality tv ghost hunters to check it out! open.spotify.com/playlist/4GQ.... #A #GraphicNovel

The Ghost Hunters that you brought in to investigate your home set up a spirit box in the attic, but all it does is play “Blue (Da Ba Dee)” by Eiffel 65 clearly and continuously through the cheap staticky speakers. #PlaylistPitch #A #GraphicNovel

I want to also state that I’ve really really loved working with POME, and they’ve been extremely kind in this transition! The story is so much better for having worked with them and @murdersheedited.bsky.social

💔💔Hey folks, I’ve been waiting for POME to make their announcements and now that they have, I’m sorry to say that the future of my novel, Ghost Slappers, is a little uncertain! The project is nearly complete and I’m currently seeking a publisher/agented representation.

After 10 years of feeling big feelings about comics, POME is going to be closing down over the next few months. We'll keep y'all posted with details, but for now, you can read about it here:

Repost, 2020

Awhile back I did a 4 page comic for a kickstarter hosted by my friend, @madsparrow.bsky.social ! Though it never officially went to print, I am still incredibly proud of this piece.

I've never posted it anywhere, here's the first page!

Why even have a dark mode on an app if it’s going to play a bright white ad in the middle of using it

“Why didn’t you come to meatball night”

“Yeah you did, I invited you in the … group… chat…”

Theres plenty of ideas that I started and don’t feel like picking back up because they aren’t worth the time investment. Deciding that something has run its course and you’re done with it isn’t failure. I’m really excited to see what you make moving forward

I think the space away from the project really helped me grow as a cartoonist and story teller, and I’m happy to be diving back in but spending time away reminded me that I WANT to finish it.
madsparrow.bsky.social
<3 listen for what it’s worth I stopped making ghost slappers shortly after graduating for a lot of the same reasons. Then I spent a few years playing with some other ideas and decided to go back to ghost slappers like a year ago for an in print only version

Just sharing a comfortable moment I had coming home tonight.

Creeping carefully into your room you lift your window, letting in that last warm breeze before the storm reaches you, hoping to catch the last breaths of the accordion song, there’s a delay and then, quietly, the last two lines of the song drift up from the street below
madsparrow.bsky.social
Walking home on an unseasonably warm night at the edge of spring, the sky flickering occasionally with lightning from a distant storm, the first splash of a drizzle begins to dot the sidewalk. You near the soft light of your porch and hear an accordion played gently from the porch across the street

Anyway so far what I’m learning is that I really spent a LOT of time on my phone doing nothing and that replacing that time with something I enjoy doing has been good for my brain.

I am not really a fast reader it just turns out I have a lot of little pockets of time throughout the day where I’d pull my phone out and scroll and scroll. I still used to read a lot (last year I read 20 books?)
