House Republicans have been on vacation for 19 days.

The government is shut down and health care costs are exploding.

Cancel the vacation, and let’s get back to Washington. We have work to do.

Boxes of lifesaving food aid manufactured by @edesianutrition.bsky.social in NK are finally moving again to hungry children around the world.

This is the result of months of advocacy and proof that even in these challenging times, it’s still possible to get good things done.

Instead of finding terrorists, drug smugglers, and human traffickers, Trump is diverting resources to silence people engaging in free speech.

This is dangerous, undemocratic, and makes America less safe.

Every day I’ve been getting angrier when I think about how maga, the so called alpha male bros, always punch down at people who are less fortunate or struggling.

This isn’t manliness. It’s cowardly, it’s shameful, and it makes you look like a tiny little douche face

After months of delays following the DOGE stop work order,
@edesianutrition.bsky.social
in NK just resumed regular shipping for U.S.-funded food aid since January.

This will save thousands of lives, with many more to come.

Thank you to everyone who advocated. You made a real difference.

Republicans are giving Americans a false choice: pay much higher health care costs with rising premiums, or keep the government shut down.

The American people deserve better.

Republicans have had 15 years to come up with their Obamacare alternative, and still have NOTHING.

Mike Johnson has kept House Republicans on vacation for three weeks rather than deal with the healthcare crisis.

No plan, no urgency, no credibility.

Mike Johnson: "Let me look right into the camera and tell you very clearly: Republicans are the ones concerned about healthcare. Republicans are the party working around the clock everyday to fix healthcare. This is not talking points for us: we've done it."

RIers are being stretched to the limits by rising health care & drug costs. Employers say it’s making it harder to keep the lights on. Instead of addressing the crisis, Republicans shut the government down. I’m fighting to reopen it & protect health care.

It’s National Seafood Month! 🐟

The perfect time to enjoy fresh, local seafood and support the hardworking Rhode Island fishermen who bring it to our plates.

House Republicans left town for vacation rather than working with us to fix our broken health care system and keep the government open.

To my colleagues across the aisle: Stop the cuts to Medicaid and ACA tax credits. Reopen the government. Save health care.

You have been doing no work. You literally closed the house and went on a two-week vacation with the government shutting down and healthcare costs set to explode.

Call back your members. Work with us. Do your job.

REPORTER: Do you commit to doing something to address the ACA subsidies so that insurance premiums don't spike for Americans?

MIKE JOHNSON: Republicans commit to continuing the work we've already been doing

(That's a no)

Tri-County Community Action Agency in Johnston delivers medical, dental, mental health, & family services to people across RI.

Costs for these services will be out of reach for many if Republican funding cuts take effect. The budget must include adequate health care funding.

I visited Kent Hospital in Warwick today & heard about how important it is to protect health care funding in the federal budget - for doctors, nurses, & especially for patients and families.

We must include health care funding in the budget so people can afford to get care.

Health care premiums are expected to rise by more than double unless Congress acts.

And what do Republicans in Congress do? Skip town for vacation and let the government shut down instead of fixing the mess they created. They control Congress. They own this.
magaziner.house.gov
Health care costs are rising because Trump and Republicans slashed billions from our health care system.

Now, as Congress negotiates government funding, Republicans are refusing to work on lowering costs for people.
