Michael B Jordan's performance in the wire was incredibly strong and he was still a very young man (15 to 16, I think). His talent was very clear then, and he proved it was no accident in Friday Night Lights.

Not every project he did is great, but he always shined.

I live in NJ11, the home district of Sherrill, and while I think your first point is valid the second is less so.

Our district could easily have gone red last year if Sherrill stepped aside. It is easy enough to appoint a caretaker for the seat and schedule an election if she is elected Governor.
