For the first time today, my toddler picked out a toy he wanted me to buy while we were at a festival. What did we go home with?
A Wobbuffet.
He played with it, fed it his fruit snacks, sang Wheels on the Bus to it, and gave it kisses all evening.
Worth the overpriced $18.

For the first time today, my toddler picked out a toy he wanted me to buy while we were at a festival. What did we go home with?

Within the past year and a half, I have fallen drunk out of my car and slammed my elbow and now fallen over toys and slammed my elbow in the same spot. Both hurt equally as bad, but one was more fun than the other.

Turned on the Mario movie and my son acts out the entire movie with his toys. Bowser on screen? Bowser toy. Mario and Luigi? He’s playing with them. Toad? Yep. He acts out the entire thing scene by scene and it’s too cute.

I’ve been rewatching the entirety of Squid Game to see how season 1 connects with 2-3 and the number of times throughout the series that Geum-ja mentions how the game ends for her should have been such a red flag and my heart hurts for her. The only eliminations I cried for were hers and her sons.

Today my toddler son was hum-singing a song from a Japanese children’s show with perfect Japanese tones. He’s nonverbal, but I’m positive he’ll have some level of fluency in English and Japanese someday.

Just based on the experience we had last week when receiving our toddler son’s level 2 autism diagnosis (which wasn’t a surprise to us), I can understand and emphasize with parents who are shocked and take the news so poorly. 🧵

My 2yo son sings (hums) nonstop, but he doesn’t say any words in English. Over the past couple days, he started saying “Eevee”. Thanks, Pokémon Kids TV. 🥹

Grand Sumo March update: my son now pats his stomach when bouts start, then comes to us when they end, bends down and holds his hand out to receive prize money. He’s two and pretends to be a sumo wrestler! 😂

The more we meet with state services and discuss diagnosing my son with ADHD or autism (or potentially both), the more we realize I have undiagnosed ADHD with symptoms and signs that go back to my early childhood.

My mom bought my son Sesame Street figures. He pretends that they’re sumo wrestling each other. We have to say “hakkeyoi” for each bout. I’m pretty sure Rosita is the Yokozuna.

I’ve owned 5 Volkswagen cars in almost 20 years and all have one amusing feature. They give me a visual and audio signal when the outside temperature drops to 39°.
