Agreed. I'm not saying Epstein was a suicide and I'm not saying it wasn't, but it sure as hell wasn't arranged by this bunch.

That's a great memory. The remaster was such a big deal when it came out. Rented a limo with friends to drive around our random Midwest town drinking and then get dropped at the theater opening night. Everyone tried to figure out if we're anyone important. We were just fans. Love your memory.

So gross! How can you even show a picture of someone who is black on THE WRONG SIDE???

B-Wing has been my favorite starfighter since '88. They did some weird shit to it in Rebels that I haven't fully accepted but either way the design is cool.

And another 10h just faffing about doing stuff. I'm getting good feedback and learning new skills, but somehow I always have more work than I can do in a day even when I'm tuning out meetings to work.

I'm not sure I feel like a technical leader. It's not what I expected, but it pays well, at least.

I had that for weeks after 9/11 and again in the 2016-2020 time frame.

For me, focusing on work to the exclusion of everything else is a coping mechanism. I don't go anywhere or do anything. I just eat, sleep, work, and ... wait, basically. It's not healthy but I can't *live* right now.

I like that the paper encourages readers to run around fondling animals. "Science doesn't know how big elephant balls are. Why don't you run up to that one over there and find out. Also cats. Go measure lots of cat balls. They live that shit. Science, bitches!"

... perhaps.

I love TLJ. The next one, though.... I just can't.

The fact that someone did this 90 years ago, which spurred the slogan "Never again," yet here we are again... let's acknowledge someone will definitely try this shit again.

When Amigas were sold, PC wasn't strictly associated with Windows. I think it's fair to call an Amiga a PC because they certainly were.

solidified the franchise as action-adventure because it did so much better financially and the studio learned the wrong lesson from that. I'd love to see the vision of TMP combined with the writing and humanity of later iterations.

I appreciate it for what it is. But the human side of the equation suffered. The new characters weren't compelling or relatable. TWoK is a much better story and not because of the action or effects. I cared more about Scotty's nephew and Joachim than Decker or... whatsherface. Of course, TWoK

Now I just work from home. Screw alllllll that noise.

I used to drive ~170km (106 miles) one way for work. There was only about a 5 mile stretch of slow traffic and it was clear sailing from there. It took about the same time as my ~50km commute near Washington DC. I don't mind it at speed. The train was faster but then it added a 40 minute bus ride.

I feel like "contains" is not a great description. It can generate it, just like any human mind could. When we try to create systems that respond as humans might, it's to be expected that this will not be limited to only our best qualities. It has no capacity for mind or morality. It's just math.

What odds do you give that elections are going to survive? Not the voting part, just that the results are accepted. Because I think the odds are damn close to zero.

We need more political folk music these days. And political music of every genre. I feel like anthems are the soul of revolution, whether it's Four Dead in Ohio or Killing in the Name Of.

I'm going to go out and find myself an actual paper just for the front page. Might frame it as a reminder that things do eventually get better.

There is no allowance for this in the chain of command. The domestic enemies anticipated are those opposing the nation, not those elected to run it. A military plan for ousting the elected government is for soldiers to basically commit treason and hope their side wins so all is forgiven. Very risky.

I made a 2D map using some premade tiles, so... pretty much same.
