It's better not to think too hard about the military, because if anyone thinks the main cast would be allowed to just live normally after everything they've seen and done (special mention to Hop) I've got a bridge to sell them.

I'm confused because while I have some issues with the final season the ending is... Fine? Like loose ends are largely tied up except for the one thing that's supposed to be left open to interpretation. Why would there need to be a secret ending episode?
