Khan being a wise guide and the general plot of "main character who has never left his station needs to deliver a message from Hunter" is the only things I remember being the same in both.

I have played the first two games but I dont remember that much from them. A big difference is the amount of violence? Im approaching the ending and Artyom has only fired a gun like twice. Its alot more of him just kind of talking to different people on different stations around the metro.
