Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bil: proposed register of educational providers - requires structured learning providers e.g. Scout/Guides, religious groups, relatives... too provide full details to a LA register or be fined, but ONLY for home ed. children Implication h.ed will be denied access.

Home education is not an educational Cul-De-Sac; it opens doors for many children where school is: the wrong fit, fails the individual child, or even risks their mental health or even life. Home education allows them to navigate the educational landscape to become successful happy adults
The vast array of home educating families we are pleased to have as members show us time and time again how diverse and successful home educated children are.
The power to choose EHE is under threat and that is to the detriment of children.

My home educating family, friends and colleagues have grown up children who are lawyers, ballet dancers, choristers, computer specialists, engineers, pilots, medical professionals and all manner of other wonderful, independent people. Doesn't fit the public narrative does it? #EducationOtherwise

Education Otherwise has a wonderful team of trained & experienced educational report checkers. They won't write a report for you but they will check your draft, advise you of gaps, need for detail, errors etc., so you can submit a good quality report to you local authority #homeeducation

Speaks to the core issues of obscuring the real failures leading to a child's death by deflecting blame onto home education
Today we saw strident media 'guests' claiming that home education led to a child's death: Known to social care for life, given to her murderer by the family court, battered when in school, let down year on year by social care.

@hzeffman.bsky.social heads up: in England (& UK) it is home education NOT home schooling; home education is the term adopted by the DfE & current statute including proposed legislation. So when reporting please use the correct terminology
