I was a child in the 1970's when transplants were invented, reattaching severed fingers, and so on. Measles vaccinations were invented (a bit too late for me).

A friend recently had a large aneurysm repaired using a 3D printed blood vessel.

I'm feeling a bit of Future Shock.

In 1812, the USA had to make war on Britain (in the form of Canadian Territories) to get the White House damaged.

Now Trump is doing it himself!

Apparently, I make the bed too slowly.

It is weird that I don't like needles, but feel sad that my doctor has stopped me donating blood for the next three months.
September 9, 2025 at 1:07 AM
My regular blood donation place (Australian Red Cross Lifeblood) have warned me that my ferritin levels are getting low, so off to the doctor. A full set of blood tests later show my PSA score is slightly up, and my eGFR is low. But she has been monitoring it, so no worries.

"AI" originally was short for "Artificial Insemination".

I occasionally get the creepy shivers when I read about computer based AI.

False Spring is starting in Canberra. Daily temps are now around 16 celcius. Startled neighbourhood emerges to peer at the midday sun, before running inside before the evening chill.

Canberra's winter is a real hardship this year, with overnight temperatures around minus 5 Celsius. Morpheus and Apollo are glas we have heated throw-blankets.

Morpheus Cat is helping me make the bed.
July 6, 2025 at 12:17 AM
That is it. The catlapometer has broken down and is taking refuge in the bed. Morpheus (God of dreams) is tired of minus five degree nights.

Mountain Rosella wondering if I'm going to share that food....
June 19, 2025 at 8:25 AM
Max Temperature today in southern Canberra was 5.4 degrees Celsius. But the apparent temperature only broke 3 degrees as the sun was setting...

It's feeling like a cruel winter.

Australia returns the Labor Party to government, after the opposition expresses some level of admiration for Trump.

"Prince William and Donald Trump to be among guests at Pope's funeral on Saturday"

Well, That is going to cut into the Donald's golfing time.

Hmm. American Border Control is refusing entry to any foreign national that has expressed a negative opinion of the Trump Team.

Be nice, or tell the truth?

Not sure I'll be visiting my D-USA friends soon....

The cloud pattern at the north pole of Saturn is a hexagon. A giant hexagon many times bigger than the earth.

This universe has a texture rendering problem.

Autumnal Equinox in a few hours. A welcome time of the year when the Cat sleeps through the night and feels no need to wake me up at 3am.

Donald Trump promised to "Make America Great Again". I guess he thinks that means he has to smash it into pieces first, before he can make it great.

Personally, I think he is making America Grate.

I'm getting really good at taping my knee to stop the patella from rolling around the side.

Bothers me that the tape looks like a Euro symbol, though.

I think Trump has discovered that Jackson and Buchanan are higher on the list of worst Presidents of the USA, and is determined not to be beaten by anybody.

Thank you to PC Mag and ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) for helping me to revert to Microsoft Office 365 Classic.

I hadn't asked Microsoft to upgrade me to the more expensive option of 'stuff I want' + AI, but I was presented with it anyway.

For the past 35 years I have studied pre-baroque fencing manuals. I have fenced competitively across Australia and in the USA.

Now I find that my long-term hobby has altered my musculature - my right patella rolls sideways when I walk. Physio, exercises, and body strapping to try to stop that.
