I think I got excited over art that was more niche, aimed towards me. I really liked my traditional stuff, but that was me feeling like I did something really new and awesome - with those markers and effects.

Or it's that I've started trying deconstruct and unify my art style into one particular look. I'm aware my paintings have some awkwardness, so I want to fix that. Maybe I'm in a rough stage right now, and I need to polish my art style to where people will start to get on board with that.

Possibly, it's because I don't really do coms anymore, so maybe it's just been my own tastes controlling what I draw - and people don't react to that as much.
