She is sensationally good, isn’t she? Her short stories are marvellous too, ‘The Great, Grand Soap-Water Kick’ is an all-time favourite.

It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? I work in an indie bookshop and it’s one of those rare silver bullet books, beloved by the full spectrum of booksellers with wildly differing reading tastes.
