actually, I can use this for this week’s #showMeYourKnits - I am very rarely affected by the christmas spirit, but when it does hit, I make a new bauble for my tree. and then I’m back to grinching lmao 🧶

I have jammed a fairy light through the middle which is probably a fire hazard but looks very festive. yüle hög, a surprisingly long hand-knitted pig with a tiny santa hat. improvised during a fever dream inspired by the MERL. a hand-knit heart-shaped bauble with knitted mistletoe appliquéd on. a Jean Greenhowe special.

starting a new job next week so have made a new coat to mark the occasion! even made the shoulderpads :) 🪡

whenever I think of a project to use up my scraps, I seem to need more yarn to bring it all together and end up with more scraps than I started with. which kind of defeats the object. but these socks are a ‘true’ scraps project, made with the leftovers from five pairs of socks. #showMeYourKnits 🧶

dealt with some more deep stash to make this - ruffle top from Breaking the Pattern by Named Clothing. fabric is miscellaneous quilting cotton that must be at least 15 years old, and the buttons are recycled from an old cardigan 🪡 #sewsky

for #ShowMeYourKnits garter stitch week, here’s my Waiting for Rain. Short rows with neat little lace panels to break up all that garter. it’s brilliantly wrappable, although sometimes I just knot it around my shoulders and waft around like I’m the ghost of a Victorian washerwoman 👻🧶

according to my records, I am on my 20th cardigan (😅), so here’s my first, my favourite, and my fcurrent fwip for #showMeYourKnits 🧶

I made the leopard print one in 2007. if it were human it would almost be old enough to buy me a drink. terrifying.

hot off the needles, some DK for #showmeyourknits - another shortened and cardiganised Saltburn to match my best beloved yellow one. buttons have been in my stash for 10 years, so I’m glad to finally find a use for them! 🧶

have been brushing up on my python recently, going back to text-based basics. made myself a handy simulator for when I have a millennial panic and start looking at the lottery as a viable retirement plan lmao

had to go spelunking in the caverns of past projects to find anything green for #showMeYourKnits - definite gap in the current wardrobe I should try to fill. in the meantime, here’s leek from 2012, which I wore to the point of disintegration. (improvised, random cheap yarn from the local market)

was wondering why I was waking up with sore wrists, then updated my blanket tracker for yesterday. yep, 12000+ repetitive twisty wrist actions over the last couple of days will do that.

why did I decide to make this thing bigger again? 🥲
a chart showing the number of stitches I’ve knitted per day on a large blanket I’ve been working on. the last two days logged are significantly higher than all previous days.
