I feel like most people who criticize comic books don't even bother to read them. They look at marvel and DC with 5 million different time lines, decide it's not worth it and just generic supes in capes, and then assume the rest of the industry is just the same stuff.

Have you checked out The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily yet?
I really enjoyed it. Some folks called it "Fire Emblem but Yuri" and that's not exactly right as it's not really mechanically similar but it is a strategy game with Yuri (+ other queer characters)
