Usually, I just make a quick doodle or rewatch a couple episodes. For example, last year I made a quick 3D doodle of Merle, the show's cat girl character. This year, instead of doing something easy, I decided to finish that Merle doodle and give it a basic rig.

Every year, I like to celebrate the anniversary of my favorite anime, The Vision of Escaflowne. (Series originally came out April 2nd, 1996.) This year, I sculpted a character from the series: Merle.

I do amateur 3d modeling and this is my 2nd attempt at 3d animation. (The first attempt was just a basic run cycle.) Learned a lot about how much detail I can or can’t get away with on the character model when the character has to actually move. Hope it came out good!
