A notice on the official homeland security website, followed by an article about how they were in the right for killing an immigrant who tried to flee in a car. It is on video. The officer was not “dragged.” He was not injured. There was no aggression from the man fleeing from inhumane abduction. The propaganda is so obvious and disgusting. Here is what is written on their website: “Due to the lapse in federal funding, this website will not be actively managed. Click here for more information.” Homeland Security article: “DHS Sets the Record Straight on Gross Smears Against ICE Officer Who Was Seriously Injured in Line of Duty and Shooting in Chicago During Traffic stop” He did not injure anyone. This is pure propaganda, and somehow, despite video evidence, his people claim to believe this.

The wealthy elite do not care about you. They spit in our faces. They convince us that the "burger flipper" earning just enough to split an apartment with 3 strangers is going to take your money. They tell you, "If we give everyone a living wage, YOU are going to suffer." They say, "If you want to afford more in life, get a better job." When the people do, they complain that no one wants to work anymore. "It's YOU who will suffer if the homeless veteran on the corner gets housing and healthcare." "The immigrants are taking wages from the American people." Like a steady IV drip, they inject these thoughts and narratives at all hours of everyday, attempting, and often succeeding, to give an air of rationality to the imaginary division they incite. Many people have their eyes open. They see the ruling (parasite) class that is demanding control of every facet of their lives. Others are waking up, but without a mostly unified front, we do not stand a chance. How do you open the eyes and hearts of people motivated by hate? Those who worship the rich? I wish I had an answer to that question. class war /klas/ /wor/ noun 1. conflict between different social classes, especially the conflict of interests between the workers and the ruling class in a capitalist society, regarded as inevitably violent. I'm sure you have heard this saying before: NO WAR BUT CLASS WAR. Our labor, whether skilled or "unskilled," keeps the capitalist nightmare machine running smoothly. We use and create tools that billionaire CEOs would never be able to learn. We serve their food. We build their homes. We form molten steel into parts to build their skyscrapers. We write code for their websites and apps. We wipe their asses and change their diapers when they become too old to function. We guard their bunkers and businesses, just in case someone is desperate enough to try something stupid. The soulless parasites who thrive when we suffer are nothing without us. If we don't provide the food, they don't eat. If we don't drive their cars and fly their planes, they are trapped. They know this. News organizations stifle any talk of the many CEOs who have recently been murdered, or they change the narrative to try to hide the fact that people are standing up. People are tired, hungry, and desperate to the point of rising up. 24/7 protests are popping up across the country and most people don't even realize they are happening. They know that they will lose their grip on us if we see too many others taking action. sol-i•dar-i•ty /,säla'derade/ noun 1. unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group. Are people going to be willing to admit that they've made a mistake? Can we forgive them for their mistakes if they learn to see through the division and lies they've been fed? Can we patiently teach the importance of unity, and explain the struggles of those who are different than us? Can the working class shatter this artificial division and become a unified front? Every day more and more people break free from the brainwashing they have been subjected to, but we still have so far to go. A brutal future and long journey awaits us.

They spoke for hours at each conference on how new trade policies would be affecting their industries. About how removed protections would limit the ability to care for underserved communities and minorities. Mind you, these weren't concerts and music festivals. These were conferences for teachers, surgeons, doctors, and farmers, as well as corporate summits. Corporations who, last year, were "committed" to supporting diversity. A surgeon from a small rural hospital spoke out about having to deny life saving heart operations to patients who could not afford to pay. Without support from government programs, they were forced to deny procedures, choosing to give one person a new chance at life over another, simply due to their financial circumstances. The older surgeons in attendance listened with a calm and callous acceptance of reality, while the younger, newer ones had tears in their eyes as they grappled with the awful concept of it all. My schedule slowly dwindled as corpo executives canceled every single diversity show, now that they didn't have to pretend. At every event, the warning signs of a collapse of our once (somewhat) stable society became more evident: • Underfunded teachers couldn't afford the expenses to fly to a convention in another state. • Surgeons and doctors couldn't leave their hospitals for a week when they were already struggling to keep the doors open for the rural communities they served. • Corporations, ruled by wealthy shareholders and their never ending, greed fueled lust to extract wealth from the working class were no longer given motivation to provide support to marginalized communities. It's now the Summer of 2025, and everyone in my industry is scrambling to find any position at any event that pops up. Gone are the days of choosing between multiple offers and finding gigs at shows that motivate, challenge, and inspire. Not to mention, managing a consistent work life balance. Our reputation, no matter how great, no longer translates to job security. I have a sense of guilt when I feel downtrodden at the state of a career that I have spent a decade building, because I know many others have it so much worse. My problems seem infinitesimal in comparison. The root of our struggles, however small they may seem individually, is one and the same. The stinging pain of uncertainty, and the hopelessness that follows. bourgeoi sie /,boorZHwäzē/ noun: bourgeoisie; plural noun: bourgeoisies 1. The capitalist class who own most of society's wealth and means of production. Our society is crumbling. Billionaires froth at the mouth when they see the economy collapsing, knowing they will be able to buy up land, housing, water and other vital resources. To many of us, that is clear as day. They play with the stock market, creating small crashes to buy up shares at a discount, while the poor abandon any of the small investments they have been able to make, just to afford bills. Even water, they claim, is a privilege, not a right. Many of the members of the proletariat understand and see exactly where we are heading. That we are being squeezed by ultra wealthy, who are attempting to extract the final capital from the working class that has built our country into what we have today. "You will own nothing, and be happy" On the other side, however, a large part of the working class have bought into their lies, blindly supporting anything they are told, caring more about party lines than their own neighbors. Military occupation begins in cities across the US, something they have been accusing Democrats of attempting for decades. They will laugh and point at the "blue haired liberal" ahead of them in the breadlines. It would seem that some people are too hate filled to care, regardless of how it affects them. Just so long as another group is lower on the totem pole than them. "We owned the libs," they'll say, as their daughter slowly dies from a preventable disease that could have been stopped by a vaccine they don't care to believe in. She could be receiving medical care, but their ACA plan was canceled to redirect funds into vanity projects and the pockets of wealthy supporters. Instead of looking at the issues, they point and laugh at others who are slightly worse off than them. It's hard to feel any empathy for them, as the abuses of the ruling class seems so obvious to us. How do you undo decades of brainwashing?

I could see long sought after goals nearing fruition. Taking over the mortgage entirely so that my partner could build our savings. Moving from video engineering to directing live event broadcasts. Maybe even taking a short vacation, a word that has nearly lost all meaning to many Americans. I looked forward to joining thousands in the streets to protest the Harris administration, after her surefire win, on their complicity in the genocide in Gaza and the occupation of Palestine. Such a weird thing to look forward to, I know. On the night of November 5th, I had just wrapped up the final day of a big event. Trying to stay focused, I wasn't looking at the results that were starting to be announced. After we loaded our equipment into trucks, 1 grabbed my laptop and backpack, exiting the building. Across the street and around the corner, an Italian restaurant known for their late night happy hour was the only place open to eat. I sat down at the bar next to an older lady. She was wearing a pink floral jacket and ordering oysters. I asked the bartender for a beer. I think it was a local Pilsner. The woman asked if I had tried cold oysters before and used experienced manipulation to convince me to try one. She laughed as I gagged, struggling to swallow it. Whoever decided that raw, cold, saltwater slime from a shell was something to be eaten must have played a cruel joke on someone that, unfortunately, lasted centuries. Finally, cold glass in hand, sipping on my crisp beer, I unlocked my phone. The bartender had joined our light conversation, poking a little fun at my reaction to the abomination of an appetizer. I said, "Well, I haven't looked yet, but I have to check." Our little conversation went quiet. The bartender grabbed a bottle of mezcal from the shelf and poured half a glass. The blood drained from my face as I saw the current results. "There's no way this is right," I told myself. "There are still votes coming in, I'm sure this is like last time. The mail in ballots would turn the tide." I kept looking through for some glimmer of hope, but it wasn't looking good at all. The bartender, already knowing what I was feeling, set the glass in front of me. "Want to try our mezcal?" If that was a taster, I can't imagine how massive a shot would be. The mood had shifted, but we continued to make small talk. It was no longer silly and refreshing, but instead, had turned into glum musings and failed attempts at reassuring each other. I finished my appetizer and took a final sip of tequila. As worn down as I felt, I couldn't bring myself to finish it. Solemnly, yet trying to keep a cheery attitude in my voice, I thanked them for the conversation and went back to my hotel. The bed called to me immediately and I skipped my usual post show self care routine. At 3:30 or 4:00 in the morning, I woke with a start. A sinking feeling in my stomach. I closed my eyes, willing myself back to sleep, but it was to no avail. I had to look. I had to calm my worries and see that everything had changed while I slept. Opening Google, I searched: "election results." He had won. Everything would change. After trying for another hour to get a little more sleep, I gave up and packed the car to start my drive home. Feeling nearly emotionless, I pulled out the keys to our home and unlocked the door. My partner was standing in the living room. Her eyes were red and I could feel the underlying sadness in the room with us. The ghost of our dreams for the future floating in the air. We didn't speak. Not a single word. I approached and held her tightly for several minutes while we both cried. By December, shows started canceling. The shows that did go on had entire days devoted to talks on Al taking away jobs and careers once considered to be a stable safe bet. CEOs spoke, practically worshipping the new technology, and the working class speakers gave dire warnings of the repercussions.
