I don't know if they've got anyone on the inquiry panel who was alive at the time of the pandemic, but as I recall it...
"people thought they might die" probably answers lots of questions like this.

I totally understand the wrench. We got rid of most of our books (that is had since pre-A levels) when we moved from London to Bournemouth. Then we pretty much got rid of all of it when we moved to Spain. Mega ruthless!
