Blep. I hope I didn't offend anyone while stumbling around my thoughts about it. I just felt protective of people disliking a change I thought was super good and what a lot of my friends have been begging for forever, but then I understood the situation is a lot more nuanced and confusing.

I'm sorry, I should NOT have said one ethnic feature. Anything in the canon text which told/showed us he's a POC would have made changing his skin tone unnecessary. I'm not entirely convinced we got that evidence, so I saw the change as necessary, but Season Two might make amends.

You're not wrong, and I think it's a positive change overall too, but many light skinned POC in the fandom really loved being represented by Alastor, and I'm just sad for them losing this. One man's gain is another man's loss, so and so.

Yeah, but she did all of that after the pilot. Everyone expected Alastor to have a darker skin tone by Season One because of the backlash, but he just didn't, so since the pilot and until a few months ago everyone just assumed Alastor was just a very pale- hence, white passing- person of color.

Im a little confused because 99% of all the people I've ever spoken to about Alastor have reconciled his light skin tone with him being a white passing creole person who used this privilege to get work and killed racists who didnt realize they said something racist in front of a creole person.
