How or why people were able to receive ranks in this way remains a closely guarded secret. Lune and Lillian’s ranks are Joker and Archseer respectively. There is another Joker senior to Lune. Very few know of his real identity. Unlike Lillian, Lune was not born nor ranked in any of the four kingdoms. In fact, his parentage remains unknown. The First Joker is the one who raised him. Lillian is a longtime friend of the First Joker. Her life is one of intense boredom, as she feels that she has never been challenged. The First Joker’s mission is the only time she’s found something worthy of excitement.

She was next in line to take charge of Clubs’ Royal Guard. Wanting to expand Spades’ military influence, the King and Queen of Spades hoped to connect the two kingdoms via an arranged marriage between her and Arin. Arin and Nouria were briefly against being married. They promised to be cordial whilst leaving each other to their own devices. However, they soon found they shared much in common, and fell for each other as a result. Nouria, in many ways, was more outspoken than Arin, and during her time in Spades, she got in touch with various rebel groups. Eventually, she was found guilty of conspiring against the crown. To protect Arin, she kept him in the dark, knowing well that he was deeply afraid of his parents. Ultimately, she knew that he didn’t have it in him to fight back. Not yet at least. The Queen of Spades personally executed Nouria — in part to send a pointed message to her children. If even her soon-to-be daughter in law wasn’t safe, then no one was. When he had a chance to defend Nouria, Arin froze. Even as she was marched to her death, he couldn’t look her in the eye.
